With Everything

Time, is given by God to us...
Careers are given by God to us...
Material possessions are given by God to us...
Skills are given by God to us...
Knowledge is given by God to us...
Wisdom is given by God to us...
Creativity is given by God to us...
Talents are given by God to us...
With everything, God's glory will be shown...
God's glory will be shown THROUGH us,
WHEN we glorify Him with everything...

Our Core Values

Last MNC(14th MNC), all of us had been introduced with the core values of HIM. Revisiting the Core Values. The CORE represents a fresh step in our movement as God begins a new work in all of us. It is about building the essential basics, our roots and foundations. The Core is all about revisiting and strengthening our values. The 10 Core Values are stated as below:-

1. Christ-Centred

We believe Christ is central to who we are and what we do. This applies to each believer and the church as a whole. All that we are and all that we do is for His glory. We are committed to helping our members develop an intimate and meaningful relationship with Christ through prayer; a relationship that leads to hope, purpose and fulfilment.

2. Holy Spirit Empowered

We believe in the importance of being Spirit-filled and Spirit-led. We emphasise reliance on the Holy Spirit in every facet of our personal and church life. It is through the God’s Spirit that life transformation occurs and every spiritual gift mentioned in God’s Word can be and should be manifested today.

3. Bible Based

We believe our faith and practice as Christians is founded and built upon biblical principles. We emphasis expository preaching and balanced comprehensive teaching so that our members may understand, live out and mature in the Christian life as God intended.

4. Covenantal Relationships

We believe that God is a covenantal God. He seeks people who are committed to Him and His purpose, and with one another. We believe an appropriate response to God’s covenant involves loving, honouring and worshipping Him above all else. This flows from our belief that God is the Supreme Creator and has planned all things in His good will. God is love and He desires to form an eternal family among whom He will dwell.

5. Enriching Community Life

We believe the church is a life-enriching community. We are committed to building an authentic and biblical community that unconditionally loves and effectively enfolds people of all cultures and backgrounds. We seek to create an encouraging community that supports each other towards their fullest potential. We seek to create a caring community where help, concern, sharing and fellowship are naturally expressed out of a sincere love and commitment towards one another.

6. Vision Driven

We believe in the importance of a God given, biblical vision that requires nothing less than our obedience to fulfilling the entirety of God’s vision for the church. We are passionate with the vision to fulfil the Great Commission by raising Christ-centred disciples to plant vibrant biblical churches within every area of all nations in the world.

7. Disciple Making

We believe the core command of the Great Commission is to make Disciples of Christ. We aim to raise disciples who are passionate for God, people and the Great Commission. We aim to raise disciples who continually grow in Christ-like attitudes, values and Kingdom-focused lifestyle. We aim to nurture disciples who follow the example of Christ in humility, are submissive in attitude and sacrificial in service.

8. Leadership Development

We believe that every Christ follower has leadership potential. We are committed to helping every member discover and realise this potential for God’s glory. To this end, we place a high priority in inspiring, equipping and empowering every member to effectively undertake the work of the ministry as well as grow in leadership.

9. Church planting

We are committed to help every person experience the privilege of a life-changing personal relationship under the Lordship of Jesus. As part of this, we are committed to empowering members to share their faith and impact their communities. We believe that every believer has a part to play in world-missions. We also believe the church is God’s key vehicle to expand His kingdom.

10. Apostolic Oriented

We believe that God uses the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to mature the Church to the fullest extent.
An apostolic movement incorporating the five-fold ministry is God’s plan for the end-time Church. We believe that apostolic movements are a critical component of the new structures God is establishing in His Church to contain the new things that God is outpouring.

A Letter to Jesus

If I get another chance ...

I will do it right this time;
I will rise above the attacks;
I will give thanks when I should;
I will ask for help when I need it;
I will love when I am loved;
I will save instead of waste;
I will sacrifice instead of sin;
I will help instead of cheat;
I will be honest even when it hurts;
I will live with morals;
I will fight for those who can not;
I will give my best;
I will not sacrifice my faith for fortune;
I will work hard even if I am not appreciated;
I will give and not expect it returned;
I will appreciate my life;
I will eat my vegetables;
I will spend time with my family;
I will love myself;
I will forgive and forget;
I will hug and not hit;
I will love when hated;
I will not envy;
I will follow;
I will lead;
I will teach others to love you;
I will love you;
I will love you with my whole heart;
I will change!

Lord, grant me another chance. I can undo my wrongs, because of your love. I know evil, and I know I am not.

Every morning, when awake, just take a moment to thank God. Thank Him that you still have a breath of life.

Psalm 23:1-3 (New International Version)
Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake

Until We're Through

Don't Give Up... For all we've done, all we're doing and all that we'll be doing for the glory of God to be shown, had been paid at the price of His LIFE... This song reminded me of James 1:2-4 ~ Persevere through the challenges of life with God's principle, until we become the church that HE KNOWS...

City Harvest Church - The God I Know
Words and Music by KC Gan
© City Harvest Church, Attributes

(VERSE 1)
When the stage is bare tonight
There's no one else, just You and me
When the curtains close behind
There's no pretense, I'm on my knees

I will lay down my life
For the love sacrifice You gave to me
It's all because of You. all because of You

(CHORUS)
The God I know, Righteous and holy
The God I know, Faithful and true
The God I know, My tower of refuge
Hearts are healed, Christ revealed

The God I know, Light of the city
The God I know, Strenghtens the weak
The God I know, Your heart beats within me
As You are, so are we

(Bridge)
This is my cry, my one desire
More of You, more of You

(CHORUS 2)
The Church He knows, Righteous and holy
The Church He knows, Faithful and true
The Church He knows, A tower of refuge
Hearts are healed, Christ revealed

The Church He knows, Light of the city
The Church He knows, Strenghtens the weak
The Church He knows, Is strong and mighty
As He is, so are we

Two are better than One

Eccl 4:9-12 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if tow life down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three stands is not quickly broken.

Friendship is a co-operative and a supportive behavior between two or more people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship that involves mutual knowledge, esteem, and affection and respect along with a degree a rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of selflessness. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the trust that someone or something will not harm them.

Value that is found in friendships is often the result of a friend demonstrating the following on a consistent basis: Desire what is best for the other, sympathy and empathy, honesty, speak the truth in love, mutual understanding and sacrificial heart.

May the Lord surround us with friends that will help us on this journey of faith; friends that will always encourage us and stir us to be the best that we can. As we desire to build godly and lasting friendship with others, it all starts by us being a good friend. When we develop a godly value in friendship, people will come to us.

Friendship is about others and helping others to succeed. As we help others, we ourselves will grow and be blessed.

You will never walk alone.

Divine Exchange

As we remind back what we have experience for the past few years, we really need to give thanks for Him. For me, the journey I walked with year for the past 5 years, i never regret for what he has done onto my life. These cases there are exchange being made...Something good is being exchanged of something bad. One the great experience in life is when we exchange something of limited value (our life) and we feel like what we received in return was worth so much more than we gave for it. Perhaps God built all that Spirit into us so that can could fully appreciated the Divine Trade that was going on in our life. Divine Exchange..

Divine Exchange
My heart is captivated Lord, by You alone
captured by the awesomeness of You alone
melted by the grace and mercy You have shown
I stand in wonder

I reach to you the one who make the blind can see
who break the chains of sickness with authority
restoring of what was broken
so we may fly again

Chorus
I live to worship you
I breathe to worship to you
all of my days, your face I'll seek

For as I worship you
You lead me to that place
To that place of divine exchange

As mentioned in the bible, Jesus was punished so that we might forgiven and He was wounded so that we might be healed!! Those are the divine exchange that Jesus made into all of us.

(Isaiah 53:4-6) Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (NIV)

Let us ponder upon Him for what he has done on the cross 2000 years ago,..And come forward before Him to repent all our sin. This is because that forgiveness brings peace!! Amen!!

"Believe it Or Not"

This week again, we have a fruitful week with our weekly caregroup with its theme "Believe it or not~" We kicked off our caregroup with a nice, delicious and full full Spaghetti from Salak South. Thanks to Father & James!! Let rolls for some photo as below!!! ~ Enjoy!

So we are having our dinner here~ Italian food for tonight!!! Fellowship time and Cold drinks are served!!

The Sisters, Yim Ling, Carmen & Eleen having their dinner as well!!

For the first time, Wee Leong leading Worship songs in the caregroup~ Breakthrough, Amen!!

Another view taken from the back, Wee Leong seems to be concentrating there~

After P n W Section, we have game section~ so what we going to do? The gamemaster, Yim Ling write some alphabetical words on the first person palm while others look behind, then, the alphabetical words are written on the palm have to be delivered to the front person, bringing the message to the next person. The last person have to review the answer to the gamemaster. That how it works.~

Another shot from it with Carmen posing!!~ heheh

What they are doing? haha. Game Section yeah!~

After game section, we have a time of Sharing. (Sharing the word of God)

Some of the best shot photos during the sharing section By Raymond & Benjamin~

At every end of the our caregroup, this is what we did.. GROUP PHOTO!! *CHEEZE*

Here some of the Essential Sharing Point for the Night

Believe it or Not
?

a) The Calling (Gen 12:1-8)

From the scripture, we can learn something from the WOG here. The Lord called Abram to leave the country and God promised Abram that He will make him into a great nation and He will bless Abram. Without hesitation, Abram believe it and did as God told him. So actually here, we can learn that “If you believe it, you will be blessed”. Then, following with the calling, abundance will come into your life. It might not happen immediately. Abraham waiting for 40 more years for the promises to come.

b) The Promise (Gen 17)

What mentioned here the impossible is promised by God. When God say He will grant, then He will grant. With such age of 99 of Abraham, God promise Abraham that His wife, Sarah will be blessed and God will be given a son to them.

c) The Test (Gen 22:1-13)

There are Issacs in our life, always came out in our lives that would test us of our faithfulness to God.

d) The Completion (Gen 22:15-19)

Because Abraham demonstrated complete trust in God the Lord restated his promise to Abraham. “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore… And through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed because you have obeyed me.” So, every promise will be completed by the final approval from God. We have passed the test that God had for us, even greater blessings will come into our lives. The key is to keep our heart pure toward God, no matter the promise had been fulfilled or yet to be fulfilled.

(Thanks to Sis. Yim Ling)

Question: How many times you use logical mind to limit What God could promise you??

CL retreat @ Dusun Paradise , Malacca 1/5

On the same day (1/5) , while the unit members gone down to Melacca to have fun, UPTEN oldiest were with Pastor and other church fellow leaders . We went to melacca too :) . We departed from our house after prayer at 7.05am, stopped by our first destination - R&R hentian seremban to fill up our stomach. Then we continued our journey to Dusun paradise which is located somewhere near alor gajah for ' times of refreshing '... We arrived at our second destination around 9am. The admission free is not cheap, RM35 per person and there were 20++ of us... our pastor really spent to appreaciate the leadership team in Hope church. Below are the pictures taken during the tour at the dusun P.

We got the chance to sit in 'tutu' car. Though we were not the one who drive, but everyone was excited when seeing the cars. And taking pictures like never before...hehe

The one in the middle of the photo is our pastor bong, having a cool ride.

The one in the middle of the photo is our pastor bong and his wife, sis shara.

One thing we always remember to do is taking group photo - UPTEN AUL & CLs

UL in india...kui woon, you just watch us first lo.. next time bring you there.

Here , we saw different type of plants and fruit trees, there are some animals too ..
In our visiting to dusun P, we learn a new word call "Park touring" , we sat in the tutu cars and started to tour the park. Is the hokkien word "paktor" which means dating originated from english ??

We got to know a plant called Pokok Cinta ( Love treet), which the seed has a heart shape on it. According to the guide, some people use the seeds to confess their love to....don't know how true it is but i guess it would work.. There are other interesting plants like - Monkey cup-the pitcher plant, Mosquito repellent plant , Pokok duit ( let's plant one in the church and it grows money to contribute to our church building fund ) .

Thousands of banana

We are allowed to pluck and eat the jambu air along the way , we collected a lot and fed the deer. The ostriches were very hungry, they ran to our direction for papaya leaves. Sis lih qing was screaming all the way coz the big birds were very aggresive...hihi

These are picture taken at the hall while we were waiting for cultural dance performances...the native from sarawak presented to us with 3 to 4 dances. One of it was very dangerous, they demo on their culture hunting 'equipment' - blowpipe. The presenter managed to shoot all the balloons though he missed 2 times. It was fantastic. Tetapi I wonder why don't dusun Paradise get someone from melacca to present something related to melacca like baba nyonya dances instead sarawak cultural dance lo :p . Anyhow, the performances added joy to our retreat.

At the end of the last dance, large crowd were invited to the stage to join them ...really funny when they shouted together. wowowowo....

At the mini cultural village, our mighty leaders were practising how to use the blowpipe. Samuel was teaching Ah Qing how to use it though he only has 3-legged-cat kang hu...haha...

After the dusun tour, fruit party awaited us...

We were treated with great Nyonya food @ Suan Restaraunt, Melacca after the 'main-main' at dusun Paradise ... We enjoy the CL retreat very much. Thank you Pastor Bong for preparing the trip for us. We love you love you lo.

Retreat to Malacca - Outing Caregroup

Cooling Cendol

Famous Satay Celup

Eye Of Malaysia at Melaka

A' Famosa at Melaka

Menara Taming Sari (new !!)

Where we go? We all went to Melaka to have a rest ~ This is the group photo!

Let's Take a Break (Kit Kat =P)
  • Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while - Mark 6:31
Luke 9:1-10
  • According to tradition, when the apostle John was overseer in Ephesus, his hobby was raising pigeons. It is said that one one occasion another elder passed his house as he returned from hunting and saw John playing with one of his birds. The man gently chided him for spending his time so frivolously.
  • John looked at the hunter's bow and remarked that the string was loose. "Yes," said the elder, "i always loosen the string of my bow when it's not in use. If it stayed tight, it would lose its resilence and fail me in the hunt."
  • John responded, "And i am now relaxing the bow of my mind so that i may be better able to shoot the arrows of divine truth."
  • We cannot do our best work with nerves taut or frayed from constant pressure. When Jesus' disciples returned from a strenuous preaching mission, their Master recognized their need for rest and invited them to come with Him to a quiet place where they could be refreshed (Mark 6:31).
  • Hobbies, vacations, and wholesome recreation are vital to a well-balanced, godly life. We lose our effectivenss by keeping our lives so tightly strung that we are always tense. If it seems we cant relax, Jesus may be inviting us to take a break - to come aside. . . and rest a while." - Dennis De Haan
If our body, soul, and spirit
Are to function at their best,
Time is needed for renewal,
Time for leisure, time for Rest. - D. De Haan
