Water Baptism - 9/3/2009

This is a back dated posting. Hope Serdang conducted Water Baptism Ceremony on 9/3/2009 ( selangor puclic holiday) . Togather with kajang unit, Bro Wei Liang (uniten) and Sis Ai Lim (upm) from upten were being baptised in water on this day also.
We arrived around 10am @ Sri Pinang baby pool. All of us were very excited for this celebrative moment. Pastor shared a passage about water baptism and faith, then made public confirmation with all the bro and sis about their conviction in salvation and decision to be baptised , then the water baptism began... Praise God for giving us a chance to live a new life!!

1Peter 3: 21 - and this water symbolizes baptism which now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I Corinthians 10:1-4
And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, And were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.

God brought Israel:
out of Egypt (the land of slavery--i.e. sin)
through the sea (water -i.e. baptism)
and into the promised land (Israel--i.e. salvation, redemption)

Baptism is nothing new in God’s plan. It is something He has always used to illustrate the separating of sin from mankind. God has always saved people through water. It was foreshadowed long ago in the Old Testament scriptures.

This is an account of a trip to Sg Congkak.

0750 ~ We started our journey from Uniten main gate...

0830 ~ We stopped by Petronas to pump petrol and bought breakfast. Along the way, we followed a slow lorry, even an "L" licensed driver tried her very best to overtake it. We saw a lorry, nearly went upside down because of uneven road near the traffic light.

0900 ~ We reached Sg. Congkak, most of us need to go to the washroom. Shocked... Thewashroom has no door. The doors were unhinged, put aside beside each toilets.

0915 ~ Walked up to find the best spot to have gathering. Along the way, saw beautiful sceneries, students camping. Walked up to a quite isolated place, where we stopped and set the gathering there.

0940 ~ Started the whole gathering by chairperson, bro James. We introducedourselves, the most interesting hobby or interest that I'd heard, would be "like to sleep".

0955 ~ First programme:games, led by bro Michael, assisted by bro Raymond. At first, managed to do all the actions instructed, successfully. But, when the level of difficulty got up, we found out that we didn't really quite know, which is left or right...

1010 ~ Second programme:praise n worship, led by Yim Ling n guitar played by sis Siaw Yin. Action songs were sung. Reminded of the creation of nature by God, whichis for us to come and enjoy it to the fullest.. Had a brief reflection of my life up until the moment...

1025 ~ Third programme:feasting, breakfast prepared by sis Helen and assisted by bro Kit Win. We had nuggets, hotdogs, egg sandwiches made by "roti compressor", konlou mee... Felt really full before dipping into water.

1050 ~ Forth program:playing, all got into the water. Some were completely wet, some were not, some challenge themselves to go against the current, some sit onrocks and enjoyed the breeze. Had a really fun time and built a closerrelationship with each other. Wished that God would have stopped time for awhile...

1130 ~ Got out of from water, and had last bites of the leftovers of breakfast. Had last phototaking sessions, prayed for one another and packed to go back at 1145... Below are some of the memorable moments...

Took, while waiting for others to go washroom...

Took, while having wonderful breakfast...

Took, on those who challenged to go against the current...

Took, before a mad playing of water...

Took, as a mark of the end...

Easter 2009 - The Blessings Of The Cross

Dear all,

It's been a while since Easter and the memory is still vivid in my mind. How the ppl had poured out their time throughout the week to practice and give their best to God really touched my heart... Bruised, the pain of falling down as a result of an act in the sketch had become joy in the heart for they knew that they'd done it well done and become a touching scene for audiences, for the ultimate message reached their hearts. And the Lord, the Ultimate Audience, is pleased by the hearts of His ppl, sincerely spreading the message of love with all their hearts, minds and strength... Below, is the moment...

Are We Too Old?

As we all can see, years has passed by so fast. Now we already at the end of April. Soon we will be near mid of the year!! That is fast and quick, years by years has passed, so do our age. What are we doing so far? Do we grow in Him throughout the years? And are we still able to 54celcius (fight for Jesus)?

My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. —Genesis 17:4

When God promised Abraham and his wife Sarah that they would have a son, Abraham laughed in unbelief and replied, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” (Gen. 17:17).

Later, Sarah laughed for the same reason: “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” (18:12).

We too grow old and wonder if the Lord can fulfill His promises to us. We no longer have prominence or status. Our minds are not as nimble as they once were. We’re hampered by physical problems that limit our mobility and keep us close to home. Every day we seem to lose more of the things we have spent a lifetime acquiring. Robert Frost underscores something that we sometimes ask ourselves: “The question . . . is what to make of a diminished thing.”

Not much—if we are left to ourselves. But God is able to do more with us than we can imagine. He asks us, as He asked Sarah, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (18:14). Of course not!

We’re never too old to be useful if we make ourselves available to God for His purposes. — David H. Roper

Growing old but not retiring,
For the battle still is on;
Going on without relenting
Till the final victory’s won. —Anon.

As God adds years to your life, ask Him to add life to your years. Matt 7:7
